He is a gemmologist and entrepreneur working at the intersection of traditional gemology, deep technology, and innovation in the global gems and jewelry industry.
He completed his F.G.A. (Gem-A, UK) in 2007. He subsequently completed D.G.A. qualification (Gem-A, UK) in 2008 and was awarded the prestigious Bruton Medal for the best answer paper.
His experience and understanding of the gems and jewelry trade have shaped his perspective on the industry’s longstanding challenges in gemstone identification, characterization, reporting, and traceability.
Driven by the belief that technology can fundamentally improve how the industry operates, he founded SARRAFS to develop technology-led solutions combining artificial intelligence, optical engineering, materials science, and digital infrastructure.
His flagship initiative, PROMISE, reflects this vision: an ambitious effort to engineer a new approach to gemstone identity, characterization, verification, and reporting.
Hr believes the next chapter of the gems and jewelry industry will be shaped not merely by digitizing existing practices, but by re-engineering how gemstones and jewelry are understood, documented, and managed.
